The girls soccer team beat Crestwood 8-1 in their sectional final last night. Emma Flick scored 3 goals and had an assist, Kaylee Klein had 3 goals, Ella Deevers had goal and 4 assists, and Natalie Rose had a goal and an assist. Heidi Timmons had 3 saves and Elizabeth Morisak had one save each playing a half in goal to earn the win. This is the first Sectional title in school history. The girls will play Monday versus the winner of Revere and Field.
Playing on the road at Coventry, the Streetsboro Rockets took control of the game after a down stop on the first drive, followed by a 76-yard touchdown on the first play from scrimmage to Donovan Washington-Perdue. From that point forward the Rockets dominated the game on both sides of the ball intercepting a pair of passes and seeing six different rockets score touchdowns including Washington, Krys Riley -Richardson, Maysun Klimak, Carter Giacomo, Mike Hall and Kalen Riley-Richardson.
The Defense completed it’s second shutout in as many weeks and the offense had another game with over 500 total yards. Dominance to the tune of 56-0
The girls soccer team finished off the regular season by beating Crestwood 9-1 Thursday night. Kaylee Klein, Emma Flick, and Ella Deevers each had 2 goals. Kaylee Christine, Kenzie Mobley, and Erika Richards each added a goal. Emma Flick and Kaylee Klein each also had 2 assists. Ella Deevers and Abby Pincoe each assisted a goal as well. The girls soccer team is PTC Champs! Last night they secured the second league Championship and the first outright league title in school history by knocking off Field 5-1. Scoring for the Rockets were Kaylee Klein with 2 goals and an assist, Leah Gawne with a goal, Ella Deevers with a goal and 2 assists, and Emma Flick with a goal. Allison Laudato and Heidi Timmons split time in goal to get the win. The girls are now 11-3-1 on the season. Next Wednesday, October 16th, the girls host Crestwood in the state tournament. Let’s pack the stands!
To celebrate homecoming, the Rockets hosted the Norton Panthers and treated them to their most complete football game of the season. After giving ups some ground on the initial Norton drive the Rockets held, making them turn the ball over on downs, then scored on their first play from scrimmage with an 82 yard run for Krys Riley-Richardson. From that point, the Rockets took total control of the game ending the first quarter with a 21-0 lead, extending it 34-0 to end the first half.
The Rockets defense shut down the Panthers offense , securing the shutout while the offense scored 44 points. Krys Riley-Richardson ran for 192 of the Rockets 472 rushing yards and four of their six touchdowns, which moves them to 6-0 on the season and 3-0 in the Portage Trail Conference Metro League.

The girls soccer team defeated St. Vincent St. Mary last night 6-1 to earn their tenth win of the season. Emma Flick scored 4 goals for the Rockets. Ella Deevers and Natalie Rose each scored too. Ella, Kaylee Klein, and Kaylee Christine had assists last night as well. Heidi Timmons had 4 saves in goal and Elizabeth Morisak also had a save to get the win. On Tuesday the Rockets match up against Field for Senior Night with an opportunity to win the PTC outright. Come support your Rockets Soccer Team!
In a game defined by defense, the Rockets waged a hard fought battle against the Ravenna Ravens on the road. Ravenna scored the first touchdown on a fumble return in the second quarter, but missed the extra point. The Rockets responded with their own touchdown after Chris Golson recorded the first of two interceptions that set the offense up on the Ravens half of the field.
In the second half after being backed up by multiple penalties, Maysun Klimak ran a 60 yard touchdown on 3rd and 31 which put the Rockets up 14-6. The Ravens caused a fumble on Klimak deep in the Rockets end and were able to tie the game at 14-14 in the fourth quarter. The Rockets forced overtime with a defensive stop and blocked field goal.
In overtime, the rockets gave the ball to Krys Riley-Richardson, who ran behind the Rockets offensive line to power his way into the end zone putting the Rockets up 21-14. The Ravens managed to score a touchdown and a penalty put them on the 1.5 yard line for a 2 point conversion attempt. Ravenna went for the win , betting ton their quarterback running behind the massive left side of the line, but Mike Hall, Miguel Cruz and a host of other rockets were able to blow up the line o scrimmage forcing a desperate second effort throw which was intercepted by Golson sealing a 21-20 victory.
