Rockets 41-Niles McKinley 6

After a 6-0 regular season, the Streetsboro Rockets were awarded the #2 seed in the Region 9 playoff bracket, which came with a first round bye. Niles McKinley defeated Ravenna to earn their way into the second round and the opportunity to play the Rockets.
The Red Dragons won the toss and deferred so the Rockets started with the ball. It took just five plays for the Rockets to get their first score as Maysun Klimak found Carter Giacomo on a 23-yard touchdown pass.
After the defense forced a McKinley punt, the second Rockets possession took twice as many plays, but had a similar result. Largely keeping the ball on the ground, Klimak found Hunter Hopperton in the end zone from 30 yards, giving them a 14-0 lead.
The Rockets were able to get one more score before the end of the first quarter. This time a two play drive resulted in another touchdown, this time from Richtell McCallister going 59 yards untouched on a toss, running up the right sideline gave them a 21-0 lead.
Entering the second quarter, the defense forced a quick three and out. The offense kept the ball on the ground and after a few plays, Klimak ran 44 yards for his first rushing touchdown of the game, giving the Rockets a commanding 28-0 lead.
McKinley was able to respond with a touchdown drive of their own. It took 11 plays and they were unable to connect on the extra point, but it made the game 28-6.
Unfortunately for the Red Dragons, McCallister opened the next Rockets drive with another 61-yard run on a toss, setting up Donovan Washington-Perdue for a 12-yard touchdown run, making it 35-6.
McKinley attempted to mount another drive that ended up in Rockets territory, but were unable to convert a fourth down, giving the ball to the Rockets near midfield. With time running short in the half, the Rockets came out with a pitch to Hopperton who threw a laser to McCallister down the field that went for 38 yards. 
After a pass to the sideline from Klimak to Hopperton, the Rockets ran the ball twice to get into the end zone. This time, by Klimak, his second rushing touchdown of the game to go along with his two touchdown passes. The extra point was blocked, but the Rockets took a 41-6 lead into the half.
The Rockets wouldn’t score another point in the game, but the defense refused to allow the Red Dragons to gain any confidence or much in terms of yardage. The one time McKinley did get deep into Streetsboro territory, Chris Golson closed the door by intercepting a third down pass.
In all, the Rockets gained 530 yards on offense on the night.
Richtell McCallister ran for 236 yards on 15 carries and had a 38-yard reception, giving him 274 total yards and a touchdown.
Maysun Klimak was 3 of 5 for 68 yards passing, two touchdowns and one interception. He also ran for 80 yards on 7 carries and a pair of touchdowns.
Hopperton caught two passes for 45 yards and a touchdown in addition to completing his one pass for 38 yards.
The Rockets advance to the third round of the playoffs where they will host the Dover Crimson Tornadoes, who earned their spot with a convincing 41-20 road victory against Steubenville.
