Cory was a 2009 graduate of Streetsboro High School. Cory excelled in track, basketball and football while at Streetsboro. In Track he was three time conference champion in the 200, 400, 4×2 and the 4×4. He placed 7th in the state in the 200 as a senior and 5th in the state in the 400 as a freshman and 3rd in the state in his sophomore year. He was also conference MVP his senior year. Cory holds many track records for Streetsboro High School.
In Football, he was a two-time first team all-conference selection as a wide receiver. He holds eight school records in football. In Basketball, Cory was a member of the Portage Trail Conference championship team and District Championship team his senior year.
