Student Athlete Robert Walters
Bob’s wrestling career began in the 2nd grade and from then on he found al love for the sport. With the help and support of his parents ( and siblings) he traveled year round throughout the Midwest participating in wrestling tournaments. By the time he was in junior high he was already a five-time National AAU Champion. While at SHS and wrestling at 167lbs., he took second at the State Meet as a junior and 6th as a senior after a separated shoulder disqualified him from participating in the match leading up to the state championship. His overall high school record was 114 wins, 11 losses, and 1 draw which afforded him a full wrestling scholarship to Cleveland State University under the direction of National Wrestling Hall of Fame Coach Dick Bonacci.
